December 2007

Here is a portrait of actress Emmy Rossum I did as a study experiment.

Emmy Rossum Portrait

100% digital and had a photo for a reference.

This is a pencil drawing I made in July 2007, it came from a Marlboro ad, the image was striking so I made the sketch.

Drawing of a cowboy on a horse.

It has been a long time coming: a new dragons! I love drawing dragons, they’re magnificent creatures born from the human imagination and have held millions of people captive over the ages.

Dragon Sketch

May 2007?

I’m not sure when the following sketch was made but I discovered it recently while browsing my old files and thought it was worthy of a post in here!

Baby Drake

There should be updates coming soon!

Another drawing I made in August 2007 while doing studies of models from photos, turned out pretty good.

These were all made in August 2007 as studies experiments, I used photos from magazines. The drawings are made with a mechanical pencil.

The above drawing looks great but I had to stretch it a bit because I simply made her too skinny. After the stretch things looked much better, oddly enough I didn’t notice this problem until after I scanned the drawing.

Clearly the critter on the bottom was not referenced. About the guy’s face, I’m not too happy with the way the mouth turned out, but the shading around the eyes did work out great.

Dennis James is a professional bodybuilder who has one of the best most muscular poses in the history of the sport. Here is a portrait study I made of him, about 2 hours of work most of it spent on detailing stuff like veins.

The work is 100% digital, I also decided to include the photo which I used for a reference because he is quite a bit more freaky looking than my pic does him justice. Here is the original:
